Argh

From Jim Caple:

"I think the timing is good for us this year,'' longtime Sox fan Steve Fisher said. "I don't think any of our guys are on steroids. None of them is in that good of shape.''

Unfortunately, no one on the Twins seems to be on steroids, either.

I'm glad he's on the team...

... and it was one of the best signings of the winter, but A.J. Pierzynski is still a punk. I hope he turns out well this year.

I know I'm not the only person who feels this way...

Mariotti is a stooge. He's a complete no-talent and I still can't believe he has a job.

As you can see

I'm trying to figure out a way towards a proper redesign. I'm not sure it's working out so well, but I think I'll figure it out soon. At least I hope I so.

Predictions

In a recent e-mail chain, some of my friends and I made our yearly predictions. The predictions follow. Mine are in the first column, obviously, but let me say, the other three are Cub fans.

The predictions are at a different place, as Blogger can't seem to handle tables. Oh, well. Click here to see the predictions.

To quote Ira Kaplan, Georgia Hubley and James McNew...

"Today is the day."

I'm pretty excited for the Sox to start 2005. While Minnesota has to be considered the clear favorite, Detroit and Cleveland both are good teams. The Sox are close to the Twins, but every non-KC team in the Central looks to have a good shot at winning the division. All the Sox need is for someone to pull a Jeff Gillooly on Justin Morneau, who I think will hit 40 HR this year.

In other news, I still hate Phil Rogers.

Retiring

With both Karl Malone and Reggie Miller retiring, I'm reminded of last year's NBA Finals. I can't feel sentimental about either Miller or Malone, as both were chumps and got slapped around by MJ and the Bulls during the '90s (just like the Pistons and Lakers are teams I was raised to despise). I mean, come on. Malone's redneck ass and Miller's goofy alien thing both got on my nerves, big-time during the glory years.
