Stupid fan signs


I know this happens all the time, but this sign pictured is just stupid. For one, it has no continuity. It's just four related words, put in a stupid order, just to make WGN.

Garciaparra
Nomar, Cubs!

At least that makes sense.

Seriously, though, it's sad that the networks are so willing to show these awful signs, even if the acronyms don't make any sense (the worst ones are for FOX, when people always have difficulty with the O and the X). It's not like these networks need to remind their viewers where they're tuned in; most networks already have that translucent logo in the lower right hand corner constantly, and if you're watching a sporting event, I guarantee you the network has their logo somewhere in the on-screen scorebox/line. My question to the fans is, how desperate are you to get on TV? Will it really be that cool to your friends to tell them that you got on TV for holding up a sign that said
Welcome Garciaparra Nomar, Cubs! All of your friends are going to call you a lamewad.
