When technology fails to impress, blame 'The Jetsons'

This one is another from The Gazette. I guess the best thing I can say is that I'm a little surprised they let me write seven of these things. I like this one a lot (Archive.org version is here)

I wrote this piece as part of my ongoing columns written for my former employer, The Gazette. Here is an archive.org version of the column. The original is also published below. I take on one of my favorite topics: Language and slang.

'Real World' anything but real

I wrote this piece as part of my ongoing columns written for my former employer, The Gazette. As with the MU Student News, a lot of my columns have been lost in some redesigns, so an archive.org version of the column is here. Either way, the original is also published below.

That's when it all became real

This is a column I wrote the week of September 11, 2001. At the time, I was the lead columnist for the MU Student News (and taking an editorial writing class, hence the lede) and I mainly wrote jokey columns about my hairy legs, the heat in Columbia and being a vegetarian in a meat-eating town. In fact, a column about soul music was supposed to run that week, but my editor let me write a special column. It was written September 12, 2001 and I'm quite proud of it.

Mascots

This is a column I wrote a while ago for the MU Student News. I still consider it to be one of my silliest (and best) columns. Unlike many of my more inflammatory columns, this one got no hate mail.
